Torres Straits Explorer Locations & Species

We visit a number of amazing locations on the Torres Straits Explorer, and have formed a working arrangement with the local islanders to allow exclusive access to this area for just 4 trips per year. There is no other way to fish this area, and these trips offer an exclusive experience to visit an area forgotten by time. The pristine reefs and islands offer an adventure to a truly unique area. There is over 3000sq Nautical Miles of reefs, islands, reef flats and lagoons to explore in this area. Using Masig Island as start and finish point for the trips, we will fish a different area of reefs and islands each week, so that each group of luck anglers will fish a pristine area of reef that has not been fished for at least a year. This is a truly rare opportunity. The Locations that we may choose to visit during a Torres Straits Explorer Trip include the following, but please be aware we cannot guarantee visiting any specific area on any trip as the locations are chosen each week by the guides based on weather, previous fishing and time of year. Our objective is to choose the best area to take you on your trip to ensure the best fishing experience for all of the key species we target. Torres Straits Explorer trips may visit any of the following locations in 2018:-

  • Southern Warrior Reefs
  • Hibernia & Yule Reefs
