Looks like another awesome spot to fish. Places like that are very rare indeed. I been fishing another awesome spot KIRIBAS /Kiribati for over the past 18 years it is very much the same as the Conflict Islands. Which just blows me away every time I go there. Where in the middle of setting up the very same there. Just organizing new motors for 58ft Randell sleeps 8. Also have 4 / 28ft centre counsel boats with 200hp Suzuki’s and to islands Abemama and Teio Island to stay on Teio is all ready set up for that. Betio Game Fishing Club has fishing comps every month. Must get to Conflict Islands to one day soon places like that are a fishing paradise

I lived on an Island very close to the conflict islands on Slade Island. The fishing was so good you could use candy wrappers tied onto fish hooks to catch all kinds of fish. For big Spanish Mackerel (the locals call it Diadas i think) troll very slow and about 30 to 40 meters deep with a two hook live bait rig. We caught a 1.2 to 1.8 meter fish every Saturday that provided food for the whole week.

One hell of a place with so many possibilities the mind just never sleeps. As always the last day just turned it on. not that any other day was to hard just dropped so many fish and lost a few stick baits to make life more interesting. Ok last day one at 20 something one at low thirties and one high thirties not including Job fish and everything else…just do it. You wont regret it…Dave
